I’m falling in love with hand spinning…..
It’s very challenging and I need to put in lots of hours of practice, but I feel very blessed to be learning something new and to be able to have even more fun with fibres and colours.
So far there’s been plenty of lumpy, bumpy, wiry and woolly specimens coming off the spinning wheel, but I’ve had lots of help and advice from my Creative Fibre Group friends and I’m even working my way through an online class. This week I have been doing a little extra homework (not of the housework variety:) and the result is a reasonably pleasing 100 grams of merino/silk yarn in gorgeous shades of the sparkly sea.
