Night skies

This week we had our winter solstice and longest night here in New Zealand. We have also been celebrating Matariki with the return of the Pleiades  constellation to our wintery night sky.

I got quite inspired by all this twinkly business so I made a scarf to celebrate. It’s mainly merino and alpaca in shades of blue, charcoal and black – with a bit of silk and a funny shiny man-made thread called ‘ladder yarn’. It’s lightweight, soft and has a subtle colour changes running along the length of it.

This one will be in the little beehive co-op next week but if you would like it for yourself, just send me a message. It’s NZ$95 and can be posted anywhere in the world.
