This week I sat at the loom with a box of colourful bobbins on the bench next to me. I’ve been weaving some rich, patterned stripes as I near the end of the Autumn warp length. It’s really fun picking each colour to weave next…
I’ll post again once this length is finished and made into some cosy infinity scarves.
Went for a little walk recently and was totally inspired by the amazing autumn colours. Warm yellow ochre, red rust, paprika, plum, warm sand, olive and sky blue.
So out came the yarns and a colourful yarn explosion took place in my little studio. By the end of the day, a new scarf warp was designed and made!
Can’t wait to get them on the loom. I’ll post some more pics once I start weaving.
I’m using leftover bobbins of silk, cotton and wool to weave some colourful stripe combinations.
A few centimetres of each to be used as ‘blankets’ for some new Christmas decorations I’ve been working on.
Weaving a little bit of fun, merry and bright this season.
Jewel colour weaving coming off the loom today. I’m working on some new products with a friend Rosemary Horn. She will add some embroidery stitch magic to them and they will become little wall art pieces and brooches.
Rosie and I will be selling these amongst other lovely goodies at the Great Christmas Market on the 26th November.
So excited to reveal our custom print wall murals. Designed by us studio buddies, Twill Textile Design and Nester. Available exclusively at The Inside.
Our first mini range is called ‘Fly Home’ which features three designs and various colour stories – each with a distinctly New Zealand flavour and hand-made look.
‘Fantail Flight’ – Mustard/Grey
‘Dawn Chorus’ – Blue
‘Kakariki’ – Smokey Blue
We have more designs in the works too, including this little watercolour beauty!
